Our Owners
Worldwide Martial Arts in Conroe, Texas is celebrating 21 years of service. We provide top notch instruction in a safe, family friendly environment for all skill levels. Top notch instruction in jiu jitsu and judo, kickboxing, traditional karate, and wrestling, WE also offer mma in conroe! Whether you are a serious athlete or fighter looking to make it on our Worldwide Fight Team, a house wife looking to stay in shape, or someone in between, we have something for everyone.
We offer adult classes, kids classes, and private lessons in several arts including Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, Kickboxing/Muay Thai, Traditional Karate, and MMA. Shawn also does Personal Fitness Training and weight loss; please see the Personal Training tab for more information.
The founders of Worldwide Martial Arts are 2 time North American and 8 time National Champion Shawn Hammond, and 3 time National Champion Tammy Hammond.
What You Will Learn
Even though Shawn and Tammy have competed and founded the Worldwide Fight Team, only a small percentage of their students have been competitors. The class training is always geared toward real life situations. Competition is never mandatory or required at Worldwide Martial Arts.
We are a traditional school with a proven track record of producing not only top notch fighters, but everyday people who can truly defend themselves and their families.
We are a school that offers Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, Kickboxing, MMA and true old school Karate that is extremely effective; it was originally developed by the Okinawans for combat defense. If you are looking to learn real self defense, and techniques that work in real life situations, then we are the school for you.
Our Philosophy
It is sad and unfortunate that many martial art systems and schools have been watered down. I have had several so called black belts over the years come to our school to train that have come from these type of schools and they cannot defend themselves at all. It's sad that many times it has become about doing back flips, getting little Mike his black belt at age 7 to get the Facebook post, or simply pumping out black belts in a year or two to make money.
Here are some of the things you will NOT find at our school.
- You will not find someone receiving a black belt in 1-2 years because they have money to pay for quicker testing; all belts are earned. (No belts for bucks programs!)
- We do not have mandatory contracts
- You will not find extra unnecessary children's programs that cost you more money.
- You will not find black belts that cannot fight or defend themselves due to poor or watered down instruction.
